The Te Arawa Marae to Marae Relay Returns!

A legendary event is back! The Te Arawa Marae to Marae Relay returns on Saturday, 3rd May 2025, alongside the 61st Red Stag Rotorua Marathon.

This special relay, which hosts registered Te Arawa Marae teams , guides participants through thirteen marae and two rivers in a journey rich in culture and history. With ten historic stages ranging from under 2km to 6km, it’s open to runners and walkers of all abilities.

Start: Te Papa-i-Ōuru Marae, Ōhinemutu Village

Finish: Tutanekai Street, Rotorua

Start time: 7:00 AM
